I don't know if a short cut is better or long hair is better for my thinning hair.What is a good haircut for a female with thinning hair?
If it's long, it will look lank, and it could look nice, but more often than not, it will look not good.

Texture and volume. Go for fluffy layers. Avoid flat, all one length styles; they'll lie flat and highlight the thinness of your hair. Also, curls, scrunched up styles and waves will hide any thinning areas on your head.





Avoid very short hair, but avoid long hair too; long hair is dragged down, off your head because of its weight, which means sparser areas on your scalp are showed off. Go for a bob, between the chin and shoulder, that you can easily ruffle up and mousse into place to create volume. Some strong hair spray should hold it in place, stopping any locks from falling about and showing thinning parts of your barnet.





Don't use oily, dense hair products - steer clear of anything containing 'serumide', 'silicon', waxes and gels. These will weigh hair down and make thinning obvious.





You may want to dye your hair - dying swells the hair shaft, making hair a bit thicker.
